Announcing the Emergent Logo Contest

As we sign publishing contracts, develop websites, and think about business cards and stationary, it’s become clear that we need something to identify Emergent. Instead of hiring a graphic designer, I figured there are lots of people out there with a fondness for Emergent and a deft hand at design. So, if you’re one of those, why not take an hour or two to design a logo for Emergent that incorporates the word, “emergent,” and email it to me. I’ll narrow it down to four or five finalists (with some help from persons more savvy than I), and then we’ll posts the finalists on the website and have an online poll to determine the winner. Hey, you might have your design work splashed on book covers and websites for years to come! But, aside from the notoriety, the winner will receive a free, all-expenses paid trip to the Emergent Gathering in 2006 (okay, the Gathering is already free, but we’ll pay for your travel and food!). Deadline for entries is October 31, 2005.
